Mr. Sprague's practice focuses on both transactional and litigation matters related to a variety of issues. He has particular expertise in agricultural issues, but also has a broad practice that serves clients in both agricultural and non-agricultrual sectors.

Mr. Sprague's transactional practice focuses on business transactions, business organization and structuring, real estate transactions, estate planning, and probate and trust administration. His litigation practice focuses primarily on commercial/business issues, real estate, employment, franchise/distribution, and probate litigation.

Prior to joining CKS, Mr. Sprague practiced at a national litigation firm, where he focused on complex commercial litigation defending major companies across the United States in trials, administrative hearings, and arbitrations. He also clerked for the Honorable William J. Riley on the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.

Mr. Sprague obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Nebraska College of Law, graduating with highest distinction and being named to the Order of the Coif. He also obtained certificates for Litigation Skills and Agricultural Law and served as the Articles Editor for the Nebraska Law Review.

Before law school, Mr. Sprague graduated with undergraduate and master's degrees in Speech Communication from Colorado State University. At CSU, he was a member of 3 Mountain West Conference championship teams, and also was a four-year letterwinner and 3-time Academic All Mountain West Conference honoree, while playing football.

Mr. Sprague is a Colorado native who was raised on his family's farming operation in Holyoke. He continues involvement with the farming operation and also currently serves as Director and general counsel to Sprague Brothers Transportation, Inc., an interstate livestock hauling company. Mr. Sprague and his wife have three daughters.
