Ms. Killin's practice primarily focuses on agricultural and real estate issues, probate and estate administration, estate planning, and business organization and structuring. Ms. Killin also has served as Special County Attorney for the Phillips County and Sedgwick County Departments of Social Services, and she currently serves as the county judge for Phillips County, Colorado.


Prior to her position as judge, Ms. Killin was actively involved in public policy for several years and served on numerous Boards and Commissions, including the following:


  • Colorado Transportation Commissioner for seven years beginning in January 2005 and serving as Commission Chair from August 2009 to July 2010;
  • Republican River Water Conservation District Board Member from its inception in 2004 to October 2011, serving as Vice President until 2009 and serving as Chair of the Budget Committee during entire tenure;
  • Highline Electric Association Director and Treasurer from 1999 until 2005;
  • RE-1J School Board Member from 2009 to 2014, serving as Vice President;
  • Phillips County Child and Adult Protection Teams Member;
  • Stockholder Advisory Board Member for rural agricultural lender.


Ms. Killin received her Juris Doctor from The University of Denver College of Law in 1994 and joined the firm in 1995. She also has a degree in Technical Management from Regis University, where she graduated magna cum laude.


Ms. Killin is integrally involved with her family's farming and ranching operation in northeast Colorado, which primarily focuses on irrigated corn and cattle production. Until 2014, Ms. Killin was a stockholder and Corporate Secretary of an interstate livestock hauling company in northeast Colorado, where she assisted with tax, legal and regulatory compliance issues. Ms. Killin and her husband have three children.
