DAVID O. COLVER
Mr. Colver has practiced for over 35 years with the firm, with a focus on estate planning, taxation, and probate and trust administration. He also has extensive experience handling complex real estate and business transactions, as well as business organization and structuring.
Mr. Colver grew up in Holyoke, Colorado, and attended the University of Colorado, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Finance and Real Estate in 1971. Mr. Colver then obtained an Master of Science degree in Judicial Administration from the University of Denver as part of the inuagural class for the program, and subsequently obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Denver College of Law in 1975. While in his masters program and law school, he clerked on the civil docket for District Judge Marcus O. Shivers of the Colorado 18th Judicial District.
After receiving his law degree, Mr. Colver returned to Holyoke in 1976, where he entered practice with Carl J. Absmeier. In 1980, Mr. Colver was appointed as the county judge for Phillips County, Colorado, and he held that position until 2014.
Mr. Colver is closely involved with farming operations and farm ownership in northeast Colorado. He also currently serves as a trustee of the Heginbotham Trust and Leland Trust, has served on a number of Boards and Committees, and is actively involved with his church. Mr. Colver and his wife have one daughter and two grandsons.
